THE HOT SEAT

It's funny how we all become experts when issues arise. Everyone has an opinion, everyone is a judge, everyone is a counselor, everyone knows how to get things done, what steps to take, what to do and what not to do. We all become activists with solutions at hand.

That swift moment between sympathy and empathy, when you walk in their shoes and feel what it feels like, that moment in time where the chatter becomes numb, that humbling moment where you become helpless to the situation. That moment when you realize that books and counselors have no idea what you are going through.

When everything is snatched up, when you loose everything you hold dear to yourself.
When it comes to the crunch, when life takes you by surprise and knocks you off balance, that rush hour period.

In that humbling stance, you reflect on life and it's essence. You realize what's important and what's not. A compulsory lesson only life can teach, a lesson we must learn.
You realize every situation is different,  you realize it's easier said than done, you realize it's easier written than applied, you realize it's easier preached than practiced,  you realize it's easier bragged about than experienced.

When those tables turn, when all is lost, when help never comes, when the rules never apply, when you drown in depression and feel stuck, when you hit rock bottom and become shadowless.

That's when life starts, your rebirth, your self realization,  your turning point, your growth.
As we climb to an unstable/uncertain peak, until we hit rock bottom, empathize,  grow and learn to become experts in our own life.

...Until then, can we all pŗoųdly claim Queen/King.
