THE KINK IN MY HAIR

At the Saloon

'At the saloon', Admiring the length of my hair, I take a selfie before relaxing in my
seat. (novice of what's to come). Smiling widely, I warmly receive appraisals on how long and beautiful my hair is; Then it begins...

5mins. Later..
(In my head) Iiieesh omG, damn it's hot! (Eshishi me) she's  not even half done yet, I need it to relax, I need to wait for at least five more minutes for it to relax.
(2mins later), burning eyeballs, watery eyes, sweaty scalp, restless feet, my head is literally burning, will she hurry up already!
(Looking sternly at her); I think she's doing it on purpose, gossiping and smiling at me like I give a damn.
(Screaming in my head); my head is on fire! Somebody call 911!
(Politely out loud) madam please my scalp is burning can I wash it now?
Hair dresser " It's not yet relaxed, but okay dear, that relaxer is too harsh for your sensitive scalp ..try 'so so and so' relaxer  its a bit milder."
(In my head) smh can you imagine?

Sigh.. that feeling of relief you get when water runs through your hair, even though you feel sore when her hands run through your scalp...yea bitter sweet! That's the feeling!
I don't  know about you but after surviving  that mother of all scalp burns, am definitely  going natural!
